Saturday, December 21, 2024 Venue: Nojima Saki Lighthouse (Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture) The Nojima Saki Lighthouse Utilization Project Committee (constituent
organizations: Minamiboso City Tourism Association, Vixen Co., Ltd., and Kinki Nippon Tourist Co., Ltd.) is guided by a professional photographer who specializes in starry skies while exploring the theme of “sea x lighthouse x stars.” The photo session “Nojima Saki Lighthouse Special Opening at Night! Lighthouse & Starry Sky Photography Class” will be held at Nojima Saki Lighthouse in Minamiboso, Chiba Prefecture. “Lighthouses and stars” have a high affinity as guideposts of the sea, and let’s capture the beautiful brilliance of each in a single piece of work. As part of the Nippon Foundation’s “Ocean and Japan Project,” this event will dig up local ocean memories centered on lighthouses, connect regions to regions, different fields to different industries, Japan and the world, and create new ocean experiences. This project will be carried out with the support of the “Sea and Lighthouse Project”.

Nojimasaki Lighthouse and the starry sky shine beautifully together Photographing lighthouses and stars ~Nojimasaki Lighthouse continues to protect the safety of navigation for many ships~ Lighthouses are “signposts of the sea” that indicate their location to sailors with their lights and towers, and also alert them to dangers such as reefs. Since ancient times, starlight has played the same role as lighthouse light as a guide to the sea. In order to spread the value of the lighthouse, which continues to be active even today, we will hold a starry photo shoot that captures the lighthouse and the starry sky shining on the sea of ​​Nojimazaki in Minamiboso.

Born in Tokyo in 1986. Graduated from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Photography. After that, he moved to Fukushima Prefecture and worked as an astronomy instructor, then worked as a salesman for an astronomical telescope manufacturer for seven years, and then became independent as a starscape photographer. Currently, while working as a writer for the astronomical magazine “Hoshi Navi,” he also works as a photography instructor across the country, teaches OM SYSTEM seminars, and regularly teaches classes at Sony Alpha Academy Ginza, Osaka, and online schools. In 2018, he began operating “Night Photo Tours,” where students learn through lectures and practical training about photographing night subjects, including astrophotography. In July of this year, we produced a time-lapse movie of Nojima Saki Lighthouse and the starry sky. After the lecture, we will move to the Nojima Saki Lighthouse and put into practice what we learned in the lecture while photographing
“lighthouse x stars.” The guide will give advice on photography as appropriate, and the Vixen staff will provide commentary on the lighthouse that is unique to the area. Lighthouse photo sessions and lighthouse commentary will be held even on cloudy days when the stars cannot be seen, but in case of rain, the lecture will be extended at the Shirahama Community Center and photo sessions will not be held. In that case, there will be no refunds. Please send us your favorite photo taken after the event using the designated form. We will use it to further develop lighthouse and starscape photography.
