After that, the fruit is pre-chilled for about two weeks, allowed to ripen until it is ready to eat, and is sold from late October to late December. ◇Delivered from Aomori Prefecture, the largest producer of General Leclerc in Japan! “General Leclerc” is one of the pear varieties originating from France, and compared to other varieties, It is characterized by its eye-catching size, golden skin, melt-in-the-mouth texture,
high-quality flavor, and unique sweet aroma. In 1977, Aomori Prefecture became the first country in Japan to order seedlings from France. In order to grow it as a branded product of Aomori, we have conducted many cultivation tests. Twelve years later, in 1989 (Heisei 1), full-scale cultivation began in Nanbu Town, which has the most suitable climate for cultivation in the prefecture. It is now the largest production area in Japan, with about 40 farmers growing it. Please enjoy Aomori’s proud fruits grown with care by our producers. List of fair stores and menus We will be offering limited-time menus using Aomori Fruit’s General Leclerc pear at 15 stores (16 menus).
