WingArk 1st Co., Ltd. Launched “CFP calculation option” that calculates CO2 emissions for each product and manufacturing equipment of CO2 emissions visualization platform “EcoNiPass”

Wing Ark 1st Co., Ltd.
Launched “CFP calculation option” to calculate CO2 emissions for each product/manufacturing equipment of CO2 emissions visualization platform “EcoNiPass”

Wing Ark 1st Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Jun Tanaka; hereinafter Wing Ark 1st) is Suzuyo Shoji Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture; President: Kato Masahiro (hereafter referred to as Suzuyo Shoji) and CO2 emission visualization platform “EcoNiPass” that aggregates and visualizes CO2 emissions in the supply chain as a platform service for the realization of carbon neutrality. We have developed a “CFP calculation option” that calculates emissions, and will start providing it from July 3 (Monday).
“EcoNiPass” is a service that allows user companies and their suppliers to input energy consumption, etc., and automatically aggregates and visualizes CO2 emissions on a cloud service. We provide this as a service that supports the understanding of supply chain CO2 emissions and the consideration of reduction measures.
The “CFP calculation option” to be provided and developed this time has been developed as an optional function of “EcoNiPass” to enable visualization of CO2 emissions for each product or manufacturing facility and to support carbon footprint (CFP *1). .

■ Background As efforts to achieve carbon neutrality in 2050 accelerate, companies are required to calculate and disclose various CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain. (*2)
Among them, there is a growing movement to demand the calculation and disclosure of CFP, which is the amount of CO2 emissions per
product/service, as an evaluation index for products/services. Internationally, initiatives focusing on CFP have begun (*3), and the calculation, disclosure, and reduction of CFP have become urgent issues for domestic industries as well, in order to maintain international competitiveness. In addition, when calculating CFP, all companies in the supply chain need to calculate, report and tabulate between companies, so it is expected that the entire supply chain will have a heavy workload.
Therefore, Suzuyo Shoji and our company have started providing optional functions of “EcoNiPass” with the main purpose of reducing the work load related to CFP calculation.

■ About EcoNiPass https://www.wingarc.com/solution/econipass/ *1 Converted to equivalent CO2 emissions at each stage of a product’s life cycle, including procurement of raw materials, production, distribution, sales, transportation, and disposal/recycling. (Refer to ISO14067 (2018)) (The definition of ISO14067 (2018) is “the value obtained by excluding the amount of removal/removal from the amount of GHG emissions in the relevant product system, based on a life cycle assessment (LCA) of impacts on climate change. equivalent to CO2 production”)
*2 P3, 1-1 of the “Carbon Footprint Report” (March 2023), a study group on the calculation and verification of carbon footprints for the carbon neutrality of the entire supply chain.
*3 Companies working on CFP refer to either ISO14067:2018 or GHG Protocol Product standard, and in Japan many companies refer to ISO14067:2018. Recently, the PathFinder Framework created by the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) has emerged as one of the supplementary calculation rules, which basically uses primary data and eliminates the use of secondary data when it is not possible. It is said that it will not be done. In addition, primary data is requested from suppliers one upstream from themselves, and by going back one step at a time through the supply chain, we aim to accumulate as accurate primary data as possible.
*4 Suppliers must also use EcoNiPass and sign additional contracts for optional functions.
