◼️Background of service development
Vivael was born after Olga, the company’s representative, had difficulty receiving support in Japan when she reached menopause. One day when I was 44 years old, I suddenly started having severe hot flashes. I thought it was menopause, which I had heard about from my mother and grandmother, so I went to an obstetrician and gynecologist, but they denied it and gave me a prescription that didn’t seem to be effective, and my symptoms did not subside at all.
The doctor at the third hospital finally listened to me for about an hour and sympathized with me by saying, “There are things I don’t understand either, but let’s think about it together and treat each other,” which made me feel much better. I did.
We have developed a medical service specializing in menopause that allows you to immediately consult with a trusted medical professional and access appropriate treatment all at once. By deepening research on women’s health using the knowledge and data gained through providing services in the future, we hope to create a society where women can continue to take on challenges regardless of age or generation. We are aiming for
◼️About seed round funding
In March 2023, we raised seed round funding from two companies: Incubate Fund and Lifetime Ventures. We will accelerate growth by focusing on expanding business development of medical services for menopausal women.
[Investor Comment] Mr. Paul Mclnerney, Incubate Fund
I met President Olga for the first time in 2021, and I was drawn to the vision of solving the menopausal problems of women in Japan and around the world, so we worked together from the business concept stage. In Japan, the proportion of women experiencing menopausal symptoms who receive appropriate treatment is low, and overcoming this situation could have a major impact on the economy. I believe that creating a situation where each person can have the career and life they want will be a great positive for Japanese society as a whole. [Investor Comment] Ryosuke Kimura of Lifetime Ventures
Although the magnitude of unmet medical needs in the area of menopause has been recognized, there have been delays in the development of medical technology and care systems, and
patients/consumers have continued to bear the brunt of the burden for many years. I am really happy to be able to support HerLifeLab and especially Olga, an OIST graduate entrepreneur, as she takes on this big challenge. From Okinawa, one of the world’s five largest longevity areas, the “Blue Zone”, we are delivering fem science projects that reach the world!
