Purpose of the event
Over the past few years, we have been exposed to a variety of changes in the external environment, and in addition to responding to these changes, many companies have also had the opportunity to reconsider the value they provide and the fundamental issues they face. As a result, along with changes in business structures and
organizational restructuring, the keyword “DX” has suddenly become a reality and has been put into practice in various industries and operations. We need to continue to monitor changes in the economy, industrial structure, and customer needs, and examine how effective these efforts have been and what measures are needed to maximize their effects in the future.
In addition, not only short-term changes but also medium- to long-term changes, including corporate culture, may be necessary, and it is also necessary to build a “strong organization” to achieve sustainable growth.
This time’s ClipLine Leaders forum, entitled “NEXT STEP ~Beyond Transformation~,” will bring together diverse perspectives to discuss future value creation, what managers and leaders should think about for corporate growth, and the path to change. We will think about this together with our guests.
Session content
Keynote speech: 13:00-13:50
“The future of the service industry and the future of management – Royal Holdings Chairman Kikuchi’s thoughts on the next move” Royal Holdings Co., Ltd. Representative Director and Chairman Yuio Kikuchi, Distinguished Professor, Graduate School of Management, Kyoto University
[Image 2: https://prtimes.jp/i/11390/168/resize/d11390-168-d8870de8b3315dd1edd4-1.jpg&s3=11390-168-43020c80a3623484cc11035d538fdd06-1529×1712.jpg] The growth of the service industry, which accounts for 70% of GDP, is essential for the growth of Japan’s economy from the perspective of international competitiveness. On the other hand, the current situation is that approaches to the long-standing issues of low productivity, labor shortages due to population decline, and shrinking markets are required on a daily basis.
Under such circumstances, how can we find the key to growth, create and improve the value we provide, and enhance our corporate strength? This requires the “decision-making ability” of managers and leaders and the solid execution ability to realize it.
In this session, Royal Holdings Chairman Kikuchi will talk about the “next move” for management.
Organizer’s lecture: 13:50-14:40
“A process that increases the capabilities of people, organizations, and management and improves business performance – Indispensable for the growth of service industries and multi-location businesses.” ClipLine Inc. Director COO Norio Kanami

However, there are many barriers due to physical distance and various liquidity factors, and the challenges become more numerous as the scale of the business grows. In order to overcome these challenges and maximize the potential and value of the workplace and management, a steady improvement process and reliable implementation are essential. In this session, we will consider specific measures to continue to grow and how to achieve them in response to the problems facing service industries and multi-location businesses now and in the future.

Krispy Kreme Donuts Japan is often cited as a representative example of the “V-shaped recovery” of restaurant companies in recent years since the closure of one-quarter of its total number of stores at the end of 2015. There are decisions to make for various reforms, as well as human resources and organizational reforms to support them. After the coronavirus pandemic, there are many hints for companies to achieve sustainable growth in creating stores and brands that continue to be loved, recording higher store numbers and sales than before the mass closures, and maintaining high customer satisfaction. Hidden. In this session, we will hear about President Wakatsuki’s
transformation process over the past 8 years, and learn more about the measures he has actually taken.

The coronavirus pandemic has brought a crisis to many companies, including those in the service industry, but on the other hand, from an economic perspective, it has been viewed as an “opportunity” for major changes in society. As 2020 has been called the “first year of DX,” the trend of digitalization was one of them.
Over the next few years, many companies will be faced with the challenge of how to translate these changes into corporate growth. With the significant depreciation of the yen having an impact on global strategies, we need to carefully monitor economic and market trends while planning our actions.
In this session, Mr. Ito, Professor Emeritus of the University of Tokyo, will speak about management strategies for the service industry from an economist’s perspective.

In the retail industry, where sales channels are diversifying and needs and uses are becoming increasingly segmented, a variety of initiatives are being undertaken with the emphasis on improving the experience value and added value associated with customers’ product purchases.
In a multi-store business, while maintaining the brand’s quality and basic policies, it is also necessary to create unique stores that suit the employees at each site and the commercial area, and to be strong as an individual store. To achieve this, a system for implementing measures and maintaining quality is essential.
Bottle World OK is based in Nara Prefecture and operates 39 stores, mainly Gyomu Supermarkets.
Initiatives are also underway to improve service quality and customer satisfaction.
In this session, we will hear about the changes and future prospects of the company, which is promoting the creation of stores that are loved by the local community, while maintaining its specialty as a liquor store.

Since then, Mr. Okada has continued to take on major challenges, including establishing a new school corporation, FC Imabari High School Satoyama School, and completing a stadium for which
construction costs of 4 billion yen were raised. This is supported by an organization-building philosophy and leadership born from a wealth of experience.
