Lecture held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Akishima, the city of cricket
*Experience through competition and the power and value of sports (lecture and panel discussion)*
“Cricket Town Akishima” Supporter Club (Office: Akishima City, Tokyo, Chairman: Masumi Nakano, hereinafter “Supporter Club”) will celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Cricket Town Akishima” on Wednesday, February 21, 2020. A commemorative lecture will be held at the 1st floor civic hall of Akishima City Hall.
Akishima City has celebrated its 10th anniversary of cricket development, and it has been decided that cricket will be added to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. To celebrate this occasion, the Supporter Club will hold a special lecture and panel discussion inviting Olympic medalist Aya Terakawa. At this event, we will celebrate the 10th anniversary of “Cricket Town Akishima” and announce our expectations for further town development and the progress of the project. In addition, Aya Terakawa will give a lecture, in which the knowledge and learnings gained from her front-line sports experience will serve as a reference for further enriching the future of Akishima, the city of cricket.
The “Cricket Town Akishima” Supporter Club was established by local organizations and volunteers, and has supported town development through cricket for the past six years.
