APA Hotel Co., Ltd. (Head office: 3-2-3 Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, President Fumiko Motoya) operates the largest APA hotel network in Japan with 771 hotels and 116,607 rooms (including hotels under construction and design, overseas, FC, and hotels directly affiliated with APA). Maitu Co., Ltd. (Head office: 1-1-10 Uehara, Naha City, Okinawa Prefecture, Representative Director: Hayato Ohama), which is a franchisee of APA Hotel in the hotel business, has been operating as a lodging treatment facility for people with mild symptoms of the new coronavirus infection for two years. APA Hotel – Ishigaki Island – (103 rooms in total), which has provided hotel rental assistance to the local government for the past years, underwent renovations including the addition of 14 rooms, and today reopened and resumed operations.

Our hotel is located 25 minutes from New Ishigaki Airport, close to the ferry terminal and downtown area that serve as a base for sightseeing on remote islands. It is a place visited by divers. In addition, we have a sister city relationship with Taiwan, which is closer to mainland Japan, and there is a lot of inbound demand from Taiwan, and we will capture a wide range of lodging demand, not only for business, but also for domestic leisure, inbound tourism, and events.

For the reopening, we installed a luxurious chandelier in the front lobby and renovated the interior of the common areas, including replacing the cloth on the walls and ceiling. All guest rooms have been completely renovated to the specifications of a “new urban hotel” based on the philosophy of high quality, high functionality, and environmental friendliness, and are equipped with large LCD TVs of 50 inches or larger, ceiling lights that brighten the rooms, and ultra-fine bubble showers. In addition to installing new heads such as the Bollina Avanti, the furniture and unit baths have also been replaced to provide a more comfortable guest room space than ever before.

Inheriting the “SUMMIT 5 (summit strategy)” that started in April 2010, we will launch a new five-year plan “AIM5 ~ APA Innovative Movement” in April 2022.
