Shiraiya Hotel Co., Ltd. (Honmachi, Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture, Representative Director: Isao Yamura), which operates Maebashi’s art destination “Shiraiya Hotel”, is selling the best fruit tart specialty store “The Patisserie” on the premises. We are now accepting reservations and selling chocolate sweets devised by pastry chef award-winning Miya Enmeiji, such as “luxury raw chocolate roll,” “strawberry chocolate chiffon,” and “orangette,” as well as the new raw chocolate flavor “Earl Grey.” It has started. Enjoy Shiraiya’s various chocolate sweets as gifts for Valentine’s Day and White Day, as everyday gifts, and as a treat for yourself.

The package features a cacao drawing by artist Lee Izmida, and is reminiscent of the Shiraiya Hotel logo. A luxurious raw chocolate with the flavor of Earl Grey. *Standard plain (1,500 yen) and raspberry (1,700 yen) are also available. The plain is made with richly aromatic raw honey collected in Gunma Prefecture, so both children and adults can enjoy the deep flavor of cacao without adding alcohol. We use French puree for the raspberries and add kirsch for a rich flavor.

■Pastry chef Miya Enmeiji
After training at Frédéric Cassel in Paris and other famous
restaurants, he worked as a chef pastry chef at “T’SUKI Sur La Mer” and the Michelin 1-star “LATURE”, and opened a Hachette dessert specialty store in Aoyama, Tokyo in September 2019. Established “EMME” with sommelier Shinichi Enmeiji. It is a popular shop that is visited by sweets lovers. In addition to exhibiting at the popular event “France Exhibition” at Shinjuku Isetan, he also appeared on NHK’s “Tsubo of Beauty”. We also created the “Freshly Harvested Strawberry Tart from Gunma,” which was selected as a reward in the 2021 Maebashi Souvenir Grand Prix. 2022 At Shiroiya Hotel’s main dining room, “The Restaurant,” Miya Enmeiji will host “EMME at SHIROIYA,” a full-course dessert feast with Shiroiya’s chef Hiro Takayama. In addition to tarts, he has also developed baked goods, afternoon tea, and parfaits for Shiraiya.

The art destination “Shirai-ya Hotel” opened in December 2020 with the aim of contributing to the revitalization of Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture. After Shiraiya Ryokan, which boasted a history of more than 300 years, went out of business, architect Sou Fujimoto renovated the existing building from the 1970s and built a new building, which became a hot topic as artists and designers from Japan and abroad collaborated. Selected as one of the 39 Best Hotels in the World in 2021 by National Geographic Traveler. With a focus on authenticity in art, architecture, design, wellbeing, music, and food, we provide a place where residents and visitors can meet, stimulate the five senses, and experience a new culture. The main dining venue, Shiraiya The Restaurant, is featured in the global food guidebook, Gault & Millau 2023. In March 2023, his first book “Shiroiya Hotel Giving Anew” will be published.
