In renewing COCONO’s paper packaging, we have adopted a paper cup, paper lid, and aluminum inner lid instead of the plastic material used in many yogurt containers.

-About COCONO-
“COCONO” is a 100% plant-based natural coconut yogurt that uses natural ingredients that are popular in Japan, such as agar and konjac flour, and does not use any preservatives or additives. Rich and creamy. But it’s not heavy. In order to give you the taste of coconut milk, we do not add sugar or flavorings and are particular about using natural ingredients.
The brand name “COCONO” comes from our desire to deliver plant-based products that make use of “local” and “Japanese” ingredients. We aim to produce food in Japan that everyone can enjoy, whether they are vegan or not.
-Background of package renewal-
Since its release in March 2022, COCONO has become a hot topic on social media and continues to sell out quickly even when it arrives online and in stores. With the desire to deliver plant-based yogurt to as many people as possible, which everyone can enjoy at any time, we will introduce a new production base in 2024 to increase total production, making it easier to purchase at supermarkets and other stores across Japan. In order to make this possible, we have renewed the container from glass to paper and will be selling it at a price reduction of over 15% (current retail price 400g).

In the renewal to paper packaging, we have adopted a paper cup, paper lid, and aluminum inner lid instead of the plastic material used in many yogurt containers. Paper cups are treated with polyethylene to prevent leakage, and currently only a limited number of local governments in Japan accept them for recycling. We hope that paper cups will be recycled in more places in the future, and by using paper packaging we will contribute to reducing plastic waste.
