SETSUO KANO started his career as an artist in 2020. From a vast and diverse collection of over 1,000 works created in just four years of creative activity, we will select works that can be said to be the true essence of SETSUO KANO and display them all in one place. From the avant-garde style at the beginning of his creation to his latest masterpiece that continues to evolve after the success of the exhibition at Toji Temple (Kyoo Gokokuji Temple) held in July 2023, we will show you the full extent of SETSUO KANO’s worldview. You can experience it at the venue.

Based in Japan since 2020, he has been creating delicately and dynamically using water-based magic pen ink. Based on his own philosophy of “impermanence,” he uses art to express the world of “emptiness,” which is the basis of Japanese aesthetics. As a world-renowned collector of Edo paintings, including those of Kawanabe Kyosai and other ukiyo-e prints, he possesses an eye for observation, a sense of beauty, and aesthetics to discern authenticity.

Daisuke Yokozawa, who discovered SETSUO KANO’s talent early on and is responsible for huge content such as “Nico Nico Chokaigi” and “Cho Kabuki,” will be invited to talk with SETSUO KANO about the appeal of his works, his creative activities, and more.

Currently active in creating content and platforms that combine digital and analog. Currently, he is responsible for the Niconico Douga business as Managing Director and CCO of Dwango Co., Ltd. Since 2012, he has been the general producer of Nico Nico Chokaigi, where he has been involved in events for 160,000 people, and since 2016 he has been the general producer of “Cho Kabuki,” which combines the traditional performing arts of Kabuki with digital technology. In addition, he is active as a representative director of the Japan Net Creators Association and a producer of Toshima City International Art and Culture City.
