unerry Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director, President and CEO: Uchiyama), which operates the real behavioral data platform “Beacon Bank”
Hidetoshi (hereinafter referred to as unerry) is a member of the “Tokyo Smart Service Implementation Promotion Project”, which has been selected as a “Smart Service Implementation Promotion Business Operator (*1)”.
Smart Tokyo” promoted the implementation of smart services in three areas: “mobility,” “city media,” and “agriculture and
logistics.”
As a “smart service implementation promotion company” in this project, unerry will utilize its track record of visualizing city issues and needs through the use of people flow big data and collaboration with “smart city infrastructure providers, etc.” (*2), which are
implementation partners. We are promoting the implementation of smart services by startups through support such as matching services and areas and gaining awareness of services using communication
technology, and are promoting the realization of “Smart Tokyo.” “Tokyo Smart Service Implementation Promotion Project “Be Smart” “Tokyo” aims to draw out the potential of Tokyo through the power of digital and realize “Smart Tokyo,” where Tokyo residents can live a high-quality life. Unerry, which was selected as a “Smart Service Implementation Promotion Business” in FY2020, will flexibly
collaborate with “Smart City Infrastructure Providers, etc.” and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to support “Startups, etc.” responsible for implementing smart services. By providing multifaceted technical, financial, and network support over three years, we will create many examples of smart service implementation in Tokyo.

* Implementation project in FY2020 *Partial excerpt*
In FY2021, we promoted the implementation of smart services in three areas: “mobility,” “city media,” and “agriculture and logistics.” unerry uses people flow big data from upstream to downstream of service implementation (identifying issues, considering services, implementing them, and verifying their effectiveness) by visualizing city issues and needs through area analysis and supporting the acquisition of service recognition through digital advertising. We provide a variety of support based on this.
[Mobility] Mobility services that solve mobility issues in the area * BRJ Corporation / Electric scooter sharing service “BIRD” * (Smart city infrastructure provider: Seibu Holdings Co., Ltd.) * Implementation area: * Seibu Railway Haijima Line area
* Problems to be solved:*
In this area, where the proportion of private cars is high, there is a gap in public transportation. Analysis of people flow data has revealed that there is room for improvement in transportation convenience for residents, as residents must walk long distances to get to stations and daily shopping destinations.
*This year’s initiatives:*
・Installation of electric scooter BIRD port in front of the station ・Analysis of the relationship between the combined use of railways and electric scooters
・Visualization and analysis of movement demand within the area using people flow big data
*Project goal:*
Implement new transportation services and optimal mobility placement using existing transportation to meet transportation demand. Aiming to build a sustainable regional MaaS service model.
[Town Media] Town media services that promote awareness of the town’s charms and services and behavioral changes
* INFORICH Co., Ltd. / Smartphone charger sharing service “ChargeSPOT” * (Smart city infrastructure provider: Seibu Railway Co., Ltd.) * Implementation area: * Toshimaen area
* Problems to be solved:*
The new entertainment facility built in the Toshimaen area has created a new appeal for the area, but it has become clear that the ripple effect has not spread to surrounding facilities and areas along the railway line.
Since the area’s ability to attract tourists has not sufficiently improved the QOL of residents along the railway line (enjoying life and forming attachments to the area along the railway line), we would like to improve this by further communicating the charm of the town. *This year’s initiatives:*
・Installation and implementation of digital signage inside each station on the Seibu Line and in facilities around the station ・Broadcast information on attractive local stores
・Verification of the effect of media on promoting traffic
*Project goal:*
Convenient charging spots for residents and tourists will be installed inside the stations of each Seibu Line station and in surrounding facilities in the Toshimaen area, and the accompanying digital signage will be positioned as downtown media for city tours in collaboration with local businesses. By distributing content, we will strengthen the dissemination of information along the railway lines. By improving the ease of getting around the Toshimaen area, we aim to create liveliness in the town and improve the quality of life of residents along the line.

[Agriculture x Logistics] Logistics services that solve food issues unique to Tokyo
* RE Co., Ltd. / “VEGESH TOKYO”, a store pick-up EC service that promotes local production and local consumption *
(Smart city infrastructure provider: Lumine Lumine Agri Project Co., Ltd./Mitsubishi Corporation Urban Development Co., Ltd.)
* Implementation area: * Lumine Agri Shop (Newman Shinjuku 2F Ekinaka) / Copis Kichijoji
* Problems to be solved:*
While Tokyo faces the challenge of having an extremely low food self-sufficiency rate, Tokyo is also producing a wide variety of agricultural products that meet the needs of the city. Local production and local consumption of these vegetables has the advantage of freshness for consumers, and is also desired by related businesses and society because it leads to reductions in logistics costs and environmental impact. However, due to issues with awareness and supply, there are few retail stores in Tokyo that carry the product, making it difficult for consumers to reach them.
*This year’s initiatives:*
・Free shipping and pick-up service for Tokyo vegetables at real stores will be implemented at Lumine Agri Shop and Copis Kichijoji Event Plaza.
・Supporting increased awareness of services through digital
advertising that utilizes human flow data
・Perform user attribute analysis and ripple effect analysis
*Project goal:*
Creating opportunities to easily purchase and receive fresh and delicious Tokyo-produced vegetables and increasing awareness. In addition, as part of the social implementation verification, we will provide a pick-up service where consumers who purchase Tokyo Yasai online can pick it up at an event venue in an in-store store or commercial facility, with no shipping costs, even for small
quantities.
– For a limited time, we are conducting an implementation verification where you can receive Tokyo-grown vegetables purchased via EC with free shipping –
the next deployment
Based on the knowledge cultivated this year, we will collaborate with more startups from next year onward to solve problems related to movement and communication in the city, and also to expand the flow of people in new fields such as “disaster prevention” and “health care.” We aim to implement smart services based on data.
We will contribute to the realization of smart cities in various areas by creating a data utilization model from the Tokyo metropolitan area that will make it easier to implement smart services in cities, and by incorporating it into the data collaboration infrastructure that will be implemented in various parts of Japan.
