[Summary] In January of this year, GX League participating companies (568 companies) began announcing greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, and efforts to reduce emissions are in full swing. On the other hand, the total target for 2030 announced by each company remains at 480 million tons (40% decrease compared to 2013), falling short of the government target (46% decrease), and it is necessary to take more steps toward achieving the target. Further efforts are required. Under these circumstances, the carbon credit market is becoming increasingly important to promote corporate GX investment and realize efficient emission reductions.
This seminar will provide a detailed explanation of the Japan Exchange Group’s carbon credit market, its efforts to date, and its prospects for expanding the market scope in the future.
