*This event is held every year in Nagoya, which was certified as a Fair Trade Town in 2015. This event allows you to imagine how you can interact with and contribute to people and countries around the world through coffee and fair trade. *
14th World Fair Trade Day Nagoya Coffee Summit
~World Fair Trade Journey Let’s all make a world map♪~
■Date and time: May 4, 2024 (Sat) 10:00-18:00
■Venue: Hisaya Oodo Ori Park Shibafu Hiroba

Coffee shops from all over the country gather in Nagoya, a city of coffee shop culture in the middle of Japan.

★Coffee Summit Area

The largest coffee drinking comparison project in the Tokai area. Approximately 25 coffee shops gather together, and you can sample up to four cups of approximately 30 types of coffee delivered from production areas around the world under fair trade principles. .

*If you present your student ID, you will receive 200 yen worth of fair trade coins that can be used for shopping at the venue or at member stores.

★Fair Trade Marche Area
Approximately 30 stores will open that sell products that follow the philosophy of fair trade, which is friendly to people, the
environment, and society, and will help solve problems faced by producers in other countries. A collection of warm items such as food, miscellaneous goods, and accessories.

★Fair trade stage
People from student clubs and related companies will be on stage to talk about fair trade from a variety of angles, including related themes such as ethics, SDGs, and upcycling. A must-see is the talk by the exhibitors who will hear the voices of people at the production site. There will also be a raffle where you can win fair trade miscellaneous goods and sweets made from organic ingredients, as well as live music to enjoy your coffee time. A program that anyone can enjoy, regardless of their knowledge of fair trade.
★Workshop area
There are four types of workshop areas where you can feel closer to fair trade through manufacturing. A workshop that anyone from children to adults can easily experience.

The production/producing countries of the various products purchased by participants were mapped on a large world map at the venue. Let’s all create a Fair Trade World Map where you can clearly see where the products gathered at the event come from and feel the connection to the production area!
