The “Meeting to Think about the Future of Japan’s Healthcare” brings together members of the Diet, medical professionals, and executives from medical-related companies to deepen discussions on various issues faced by Japan’s healthcare and exchange information to solve these issues. will hold a regular study session on Wednesday, April 24th. Anyone who is interested in this study group, including medical professionals, managers and executives of medical-related companies, and university officials (chairpersons, presidents, directors of hospitals, deans of medical departments, professors) other than our members, are also welcome to attend.

This study session will feature Professor Ichizaburo Tochimoto, former professor at Sophia University and visiting professor at the Open University of Japan, who is well versed in social security issues in Japan. He gave a lecture on issues in legal services such as systems, and issues that need to be resolved in medical care for the elderly (various obstacles faced during hospitalization and transfer, post-mortem support, respect for the patient’s will and

Completed doctoral course at Sophia University Graduate School of Letters in 1985. He has held positions including Research Department Researcher and Research Department Chief Researcher of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s Social Security Research Institute (currently the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research). Former professor at Sophia University until February 2022. Visiting professor at the Open University from April 2022. Visiting Professor at National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies and Visiting Research Office, House of Councilors Health, Labor and Welfare Committee
He also served as a staff member and administrative officer at the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
