Although we have supported both facilities in various ways, President Richard Gustafson feels that there are still many people in need of support, so we have decided to partner with Food Bank Second Harvest Okinawa from Okinawa DFS. We have decided to make further donations to Ishimine Kindergarten.
Tomoko Okudaira, Representative Director of Food Bank Second Harvest Okinawa, which received donations following last year, said, “As prices continue to soar, families with children are facing a difficult living environment. We have started a food pantry that directly distributes food to local residents.The donations we received this time will be a great help to continue and expand the food support needed in the community.We appreciate your continued support. We also presented watches to five children who left Ishimine Kindergarten, a child care facility in Naha City. Hiroshi Uehara, director of Ishimine Children’s School, said, “Handing out watches directly to the children was a memory that will last a lifetime for them.We will continue to watch over the healthy growth of our children. Thank you very much for your help,” he wrote in a letter of gratitude.
At Okinawa DFS, we will continue to engage in social contribution activities while being close to those affected by the recession in the era of coronavirus.
