◆ Rekimachi Card This is a business card-sized pamphlet with a symbolic landscape photograph of a city engaged in historic community development on the front and information on historical resources etc. on the back. In FY2017, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism’s Chubu Regional Development Bureau and the Chubu region’s Historical Town Plan Certified Cities collaborated to issue this for the first time in the country. It was published in collaboration with cities that have been certified as historic town plans.
As of February 2020, Rekimachi Cards have been issued in 92 historical cities across the country.
The city distributed approximately 14,000 copies of the first edition of the “Old Sandai Myojin Reitaisai” from 2018 to 2020, and
approximately 5,000 copies of the second edition of “Matsunaga Memorial Hall” in 2020.
◆Seikantei
Seikantei is a nationally registered tangible cultural property that was built in Minami-cho as a villa for Marquis Nagashige Kuroda, who served as vice-chairman of the House of Peers during the Meiji period. It is located on a hill above the remains of the Sannomaru outer earthworks of the former Odawara Castle, and on clear days you can see Mt. Hakone, Manazuru Peninsula, Oshima Island in Sagami Bay, etc. from the main building.
The building is an informal Sukiya-style structure with a flying geese-like plan, consisting of one-story and two-story buildings, and the interior features excellent designs such as paneled sliding doors and wickerwork ceilings.
◆Utilization of Seikantei
In order to improve user services through public-private collaboration and communicate the appeal of the facility, JS Food System Co., Ltd. will open the restaurant “Odawara Bettei Ryori Seikan” from March 25th (Monday) through a private proposal system in 2020. It will be put into use as a “Tei”.
