In November 2023, our company began introducing Brava, an
American-originated hybrid backside orthodontist, into the Japanese market, which combines the benefits of each orthodontic method. With a minimum treatment period of 9 months and high cost performance, the number of patients in Japan has steadily increased since its introduction.
We are pleased to announce that we have succeeded in further improving the treatment experience by updating the shape of Brava. Previously, the orthodontic arm and bracket were fixed with a clip, but the shape has been changed to a clasp, making it easier for doctors and hygienists to attach it. Reducing the burden of treatment and shortening the installation time will lead to more efficient clinic operations.
In addition, the shape has been changed so that patients can feel even more benefits. By eliminating the unevenness of the bracket and changing it to a more rounded form, we have succeeded in reducing the pain and discomfort in the tongue that you feel when you start wearing the orthodontic device.
What is the new backside correction Brava?
This is a new back side orthodontic treatment that was created in the United States, an advanced country in orthodontic treatment, and is different from general back side orthodontics.
Using our unique technology, “Brius Planner,” we create a treatment plan tailored to each patient’s individual case. Highly accurate treatment simulations such as tooth movement and treatment period are possible.
Then, we move each tooth independently using our unique technology, “Independent Movers Technology,” which has been patented in the United States. A custom arm is attached to each tooth, allowing the teeth to be moved directly to the desired position, albeit with a gentler force than traditional orthodontics.
It is not uncommon for normal orthodontic treatment to take more than three years to complete, but with Brava, treatment can be completed in as little as nine months to a year and a half.
