Ippei Hamada, a versatile artist who designs CD jackets, business cards, signboards, flyers, and merchandise, and is active in a wide range of activities as a musician, including album releases, live performances, and festival appearances, will hold a solo exhibition titled “Space Edition” at Yoyogi Uehara Gallery PARADISO. “I’m definitely interested in space.”
I think about many things every day. Things about the world, how I’m going to spend my day, what I’m going to have for dinner, what picture I should draw, this kind of song I want to write, it’s almost time to walk the dog… and for some reason, things about space. Every day, I spend a few minutes or tens of minutes thinking about the universe. Even though I think about it, it is not a proper consideration based on physics. About parallel worlds, aren’t you the only one in the world right now? I wonder if there are people who are on this train right now, like I’ve entered a different phase. Or rather, do I even exist? Isn’t everything in this world a dream? I can’t help but wonder if I’m part of the universe.
“What you feel instinctively is real”
You might say that I tend to be delusional, but I believe that humans are simply antennae, so I believe that what we feel is what we receive. So, in the past I held two solo exhibitions under the title “Space Edition,” and this time I will also hold “Space Edition.” The theme of my solo exhibition for a while may be space.
“Print works & painting works on clothes”
I want people to feel closer to the paintings. Just as you buy clothes to dress yourself up, I want you to dress up your home as well. I want you to feel better and feel better even if it’s just for a moment. Bringing art closer to you.
This time, we mainly offer digitally drawn illustrations at prices that are easy to purchase, and works that are large enough to be easily displayed in a home where you live alone.
And since we want people to go out wearing our paintings, we would like to mainly exhibit these two paintings on clothes, which were very popular last time.
“Maybe there will be a collaboration?”
Maybe it will be a collaborative exhibition with other artists. . . Please look forward to it.

Born on March 11, 1980. Born in Kyoto, raised mostly in Osaka. I started playing the guitar in my first year of high school, started a band, broke up, got a job, etc. In 2015, while recuperating at home for a few months, I fell in love with drawing. After that, I resumed my music activities and started working in Tokyo! So I’m currently in Tokyo. It’s been 5 years since I came to Tokyo. Currently, my job is to draw pictures. I would be happy if you felt something positive when you looked at the pictures.
