Chinese classics became the spiritual support for the patriots of the end of the Edo period, who lived through the turbulent period from the end of the Edo period to the Meiji period. The opening sentence of the Analects says, “When you study, you learn this. ), I am not a gentleman.” This passage shows the joy of learning and growing, the joy of talking with comrades, and the quality of an honorable person who is calm and youthful and is not swayed by the judgments of fickle people.
By improving your humanity (virtue) and aiming to become a fine person, you can build good relationships, get a good job, and have a good life. And because you work for the happiness and smiles of your colleagues, you can demonstrate great leadership. It is because of this philosophy of pursuing happiness that people continue to read it even after more than 2,000 years.
