Press release: April 1, 2024
April Dream Project
**
As a director of life, we accompany our customers and aim to create a bright and positive society.
*We are currently holding a contest where participants can submit their stories in the form of letters with “words that they would like to convey to that person” that are “a story with a loved one who no longer exists.” The collected letters will be edited and published as a book. *
This press release is a dream sent out by a business operator who sympathizes with the April Dream project and wants to make April 1st a day full of dreams, hoping to make them come true.
Kamakura Shinsho Co., Ltd. (Chuo-ku, Tokyo, CEO: Kobayashi
Fumio, TSE Prime: 6184, hereinafter referred to as the Company), accompanies customers as directors of their lives and aims to realize a bright and positive society.
Our company supports April Dream, which aims to make April 1st the day to share dreams.
This press release is a dream of “Kamakura Shinsho Co., Ltd.”

* Our company’s dream ~ Words we would like to convey to the deceased now Project ~ *
End of life is the final stage of life. Our company has been involved in end-of-life care for our customers for about 40 years, and we have seen many different stories.

– *After his mother’s funeral, a son wanted to sort out her belongings, but was too lonely to do so*
– * Elderly sister desperately searching for a nursing home for her sister after being discharged from a rehabilitation hospital * – *A single woman proudly says, “I’ve worked hard just by working,” as she writes a will to donate money to orphaned children.*

Sorting out belongings, searching for nursing care facilities, writing wills…it would be difficult to put a label on each of these activities, but behind each of these activities is “heartfelt thoughts” and “each person’s life.” There was a story.
Under these circumstances, we have come to strongly believe that “rather than simply giving advice on end-of-life activities, we want to accompany our customers as directors of their lives.”
In this April Dream, we would like to introduce the “Words you would like to convey to someone who has passed away” contest.
This contest, now in its 9th year, began in 2010, a year when the idea of an unconnected society became a hot topic. Starting with the idea that “I want people to feel the emotional connection between people by thinking about the deceased,” we will touch on the lives of applicants and create “stories with loved ones who have passed away.” We have continued to solicit letters in the form of “words we would like to convey to that person,” and so far we have received over 15,000 letters.

We believe that by collecting your precious letters filled with stories and delivering them to many people, we can heal someone’s sadness and give them a boost.
In today’s world, where relationships between people tend to be weak, being close to one another and empathizing with one’s grief will help one move forward in life.
I hope that through this contest, those who read and wrote the letters will feel lighter and look forward to the future.
