(Headquarters: Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture, President: Masahito Yamamoto), which manufactures and sells Japanese sweets, will start a new project “Art x Japanese Sweets Limited Edition 2024” in December 2023. From April 1st, we will be selling new products such as the 4th project “Yamanami Kobo x Taneya Furoshiki” and the 5th project “Yamanami Kobo x Taneya dried sweets”.
The artwork, which is dynamically painted in bright colors, is the work of Ryo Nakao, who works at the welfare facility Yamanami Kobo (Koga City, Shiga Prefecture, director: Kankazu Yamashita). In this project, we will deliver works born from Yamanami Kobo’s efforts and traditional Japanese sweets to as many people as possible from Omi to the whole country and the world.

About Yamanami Kobo × Taneya Limited Edition 2024
“Art x Japanese Sweets Limited Edition” is a project started in collaboration with Yamanami Kobo, an art center and welfare facility in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture.
We want as many people as possible to know about Yamanami Kobo’s efforts and the variety of works that are created from them, so we will be delivering a combination of various products and artworks. From 2024 onwards, works by one artist will be sold in combination with various Taneya products for one year.

■2024 collaboration artist Ryo Nakao
Mr. Nakao, who will be participating in “Art x Japanese Sweets Limited Edition 2024”, was born in 1998. He has been a member of Yamanami Kobo since 2017, and is an artist known for his works depicting numbers and letters in bright colors. His works, which are drawn without hesitation or hesitation using brushes, pens, and sometimes with his fingers, show strength.

■Yamanami Kobo’s initiatives
Yamanami Kobo, which works with us on projects, was established in Koka City, Shiga Prefecture in 1986, and currently has 97 members. Although all of the users have intellectual, mental, or physical disabilities, the staff at Yamanami Kobo work closely with each of them and respect what they can do and what they want to do. The works of our artists are lively, free, and energetic. A wide variety of works are on permanent display at the gallery attached to Yamanami Studio, and have also been exhibited at numerous exhibitions both domestically and internationally.
