Survey on reasons for not traveling during Golden Week | Okinawa travel & resort/hotel information site conducts a survey
*The top reason for not going on a trip during Golden Week is “severe congestion/traffic”! *
◆As part of the project, Okinawa & Resort Hotel Information Media “&VACATION
‘ conducted a survey on the Internet, and we would like to inform our readers◆
Golden Week (GW) is one of the longest holidays of the year, and many people plan trips and other outings during this period. However, not everyone goes on a trip during Golden Week.
Therefore, we conducted a survey to find out the reasons why people do not go on holiday during Golden Week. Please check it!

* ▶ Opinions of those who chose “severe congestion/traffic”* → “During the Golden Week period, everywhere is packed with people, so I want to avoid the crowds. I feel like I will get tired from the traffic and have less time to enjoy myself.”
* ▶Opinions of those who chose to face rising travel costs*
→ “During this period, accommodation and transportation costs are often more than double what they normally are, so I avoid it because I think it’s not cost-effective.”
* ▶Opinions from people who chose to relax at home*
→ “Because there are many people during Golden Week, I want to avoid going out and use this opportunity to immerse myself in my hobbies, such as reading books and subscribing to movies, at home.”
* ▶Opinions from people who chose “I don’t have a place I want to go”* → “I don’t have any particular destinations I want to go to, so I don’t think there’s any need to force myself to go out. I might just go out to eat.”
* ▶Opinions of those who chose not to take consecutive holidays* → “I’m so busy with work that I can’t take any time off during the holidays, so I can’t go on a trip. Even if I have some time off, I do my best to rest at home.”

→”Okinawa’s beautiful sea and warm climate are attractive, and I think it’s perfect for relaxing at a hotel or on the beach.”

→ “I’d like to go there because I’m interested in Okinawa’s nature and food, but there seem to be a lot of tourists during Golden Week, so I’m a little hesitant.”
* ▶I don’t know (23.8%) opinions*
→ “I think traveling to Okinawa is certainly attractive, but considering the crowds and prices during Golden Week, it might be better to go at another time.”
* ▶I don’t really want to do it (24.8%)*
→ “Everywhere during Golden Week is crowded, so I don’t think Okinawa is an exception. I want to avoid the crowds and have a quiet time, so I’m not really interested in traveling to Okinawa during this time.”
