HPC(R) has features such as ultra-thinness, toughness, no salt damage, and high design quality.
The technology is the world’s first unique patented concrete technology from Okinawa that was born from solving problems in Okinawa’s harsh natural environment, such as salt damage, typhoons, and earthquakes. Furthermore, this technology has expanded the possibility of using seawater in concrete, taking advantage of Japan’s regional nature of being surrounded by the sea, and has led to the use of this technology as an exterior material for the pavilion at the 2025 Osaka/Kansai Expo. HPC(R) is a high-strength fiber-reinforced concrete that includes 1. Mechanical prestress (mechanical compressive stress) of carbon fiber tendons and 2. Chemical prestress of expansive materials. (volume expansion force during hardening)” is a strong PC (prestressed concrete) that has a synergistic effect.
Normal concrete is thicker to prevent the reinforcing steel from exploding due to salt damage, and as a result it becomes overweight. In HPC(R), we solved the effects of salt damage by using carbon wire instead of reinforcing steel (PC steel).
