#Donate blood in Albi! Report on the results of the “Connect Blood Donation Bonds Campaign”
……
April marks the start of a new fiscal year, when the number of people willing to donate blood decreases, making it a challenge to secure a stable supply of blood for transfusions. In order to secure blood for transfusion in April, the Niigata Prefecture Red Cross Blood Center and Albirex Niigata held a campaign called “Connect Blood Donation Bonds.”

The campaign, which was held with a target of 150 participants, received warm cooperation from 133 people. I’m really thankful to you! We are planning to hold the same campaign around September and October, so we will update you as soon as the details are decided. Blood cannot be produced artificially. In order to save the lives of those in need of blood transfusions, we ask for your cooperation in donating blood, regardless of the campaign period.

A1. This is a home game from October last year (Saturday, October 21, 2023, against Sagan Tosu). I was a third year high school student at the time.

Q2. What made you want to participate?
A2. I was originally thinking of doing it. I was told that if I donated blood at the Tosu match venue, I would be entered into a lottery to win an autographed poster, so I thought, “Maybe I’ll give it a try.”
Q3. Please tell us your impressions after actually participating. A3. There are a lot of supporters, so it was easy. I didn’t think it was scary. Q4. What advice would you give to those who have never participated in a blood donation?
A4. It’s less painful than vaccinations, and if you like Albies and would like to help, you can get posters and clear files, so please try participating!

A1. 4-5 years ago. The first time I participated was when there was a blood donation bus at a home game.
Q2. What made you want to participate?
A2. I thought it would be great if I could use my blood to help others, if I could be of any help, I would be happy to cooperate. Q3. Please tell us your impressions after actually participating. A3. It will be completed in less time than you think. I don’t like injections, but it just feels like a tingling at first, and it goes away quickly after I lie down for a while. I think you can participate comfortably without worrying too much.
Q4. What advice would you give to those who have never participated in a blood donation?
A4. At first, you may have the impression that you’re not good at it or that it’s scary, but if you have the courage to take the first step, I think the hurdles will gradually lower as you try it for the second and third time.
■Q&AQ1 regarding blood donation. I am going to donate blood for the first time and would like to know the steps and precautions. A1. Please check the blood donation process in advance. In addition to conducting medical examinations by doctors, we have established standards to protect the health of blood donors and increase the safety of those receiving blood transfusions.
