Maneok, whose trading volume last time was 130 million yen, was featured in “Reuse Keizai Shimbun”! Due to popular demand, the 5th event will be held on May 21st.
Maneok is an auction held by Manekiya, a store specializing in high-priced purchases.
Maneoku, operated by Mizuno Co., Ltd., was featured in the April 10 issue of “Reuse Keizai Shimbun” (formerly Recycle Tsushin).
In the article, it was introduced that the volume of the fourth edition of Maneoku was 130 million yen, which was the highest ever, and that high-priced purchases of branded bags were the driving force behind the volume.
The first Maneok event will be held in September 2023, with the theme being “hand auction”, which is a return to its roots.

Published on April 15, 2024 “Reuse Keizai Shimbun” Manekiya Auction, turnover 130 million yen

The trading volume of “Manekiya Auction” (Manekiya), a second-hand goods market focusing on apparel, sponsored by Mizuno (Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture), which operates the purchasing specialty store “Manekiya”, has exceeded 100 million yen. The turnover for the 4th tournament held on March 18th was 130 million yen, driven by growth in branded bags.

There are a total of 310 boxes on display (approximately 10 items per box). This includes 210 boxes of apparel and 100 boxes of bags, etc. As for apparel, Chanel is abundant, accounting for 40% of sales. The number of bags listed increased by 20 compared to last time, pushing up the volume.

The market begins with an apparel auction in the morning, followed by a bag auction after the lunch break. After the bag auction ends, we will return to apparel. The auction is a tournament format that requires preliminary previews, but from the second round onwards, the auction and preview rooms will be held separately. This makes it easier to preview the property in the morning and participate in the auction in the afternoon. In addition, you can preview images online, so you can also do a final check at the venue after doing this. Pre-bids are accepted through online viewing until the day before the event.

The venue is AP Hamamatsucho, a rental conference room in
Hamamatsucho, Tokyo. The next 5th event is scheduled for May 21st. We are running a cashback campaign for sellers, with 3% cashback on apparel and 1% cashback on bags for winning bids of 100,001 yen or more. The listing fee for apparel is 2% instead of 5% for items over 100,000 yen. Bags are 3%, but this is 1%.
