At Riviera, which started its marina business in 2001, we felt climate change firsthand and started environmental conservation activities. In 2006, we launched the “Riviera Future Creation Project” and are engaged in numerous activities based on the three pillars of “environment,” “education,” and “health and medical care

A “recycling farming method” in which vegetable scraps from restaurants in the marina are used as combustible waste instead of being burned as compost and then served at the restaurant in the Riviera Zushi Marina, and “thin-film solar panels” installed on the marina quayside to generate electricity. In order to pass on good old things and the natural environment to the next generation, we have been steadily promoting sustainable initiatives, such as using recycled energy to power the marina, and have also focused on environmental education. In addition, from 2021, we will hold the “Riviera SDGs Festival” and “LOVE Festival” to expand the scope of the sustainable movement.

Even after obtaining the Blue Flag, a business must meet the standards through two rigorous examinations each year: domestic examination and international examination. In addition, the examination standards become stricter each year, so constant efforts are required to continue.
Through obtaining the certification, we learned that environmental efforts along the coast have a significant impact on tourism. Blue Flag marinas are particularly well-recognized in Europe, where they have been recognized as “well-managed, safe, comfortable marinas that provide environmental education, and are environmentally beautiful marinas that everyone can enjoy.” Yes, the Blue Flag is a universal “sign of peace of mind”.

Established in 1971 as one of Japan’s leading marinas, it was acquired by the Riviera Group in 2001 and developed as an “adult marina resort” in Zushi City, Kanagawa Prefecture. This is the first sustainable marina in Asia to obtain the international environmental certification “Blue Flag” marina certification in 2022.
Riviera Zushi Marina is located approximately 60 minutes from the city center and has an extraordinary location reminiscent of an overseas resort, with approximately 900 palm trees and a marina where luxury pleasure boats and yachts are moored. Riviera Seabornia Marina, with its beautiful scenery overlooking the sea and Mt. Fuji at the southern tip of the Miura Peninsula, was established in 1967 as one of the best marinas in the East.
