*29 people from large companies started projects at 21 startup companies in May* Loan Deal Co., Ltd. (Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Harada) “Side” is a training program provided by Mirai that allows you to devote about 20% of your work time to work at a venture company for three months.
project”. In the third phase, Sapporo Breweries, KDDI, and J:COM will introduce the system, and from May, 29 people from large companies will start projects at 21 companies, including startups. And this time, the total number of participants exceeded 100 people. The number of participants has expanded compared to traditional cross-border learning, and it encourages individual career independence through many challenging opportunities. Approximately 80% of participants also answered in the survey that their experience outside the company made them aware of their career direction and their own strengths, and that it gave them an opportunity to reconsider how they approach their career and work.

*Trends of side projects that have become apparent in the first year* * 1. Project-based cross-border work that makes it easy for diverse employees to take on challenges *
side
Of the participants in the project, 20% are from the corporate department and approximately 30% are women. Compared to general cross-border programs, human resources from a wide variety of occupations and departments participate in the program, which expands opportunities for challenges regardless of the field or work style.

* 2. The number of departments implementing the system is expanding among repeat companies*
A total of 14 companies have introduced it, of which 3 are repeat customers. Companies that are repeat customers are expanding their introduction departments. KDDI initially started with a new business division, but expanded to the entire company from the second term onwards. In order to provide opportunities to a more diverse range of human resources, J:COM was introduced on a trial basis, and in the third period, the entire Business Design Headquarters was targeted.

* 3. Continue to maintain connections even after the project ends* Because the period of participation in a venture project is short, it ends with a sense of longing. As a result, even after the training period, we continue to maintain connections and get involved in side jobs or discuss collaborations, leading to individual career autonomy and the development of outward-oriented human resources.
