In cooperation with “J-Startup WEST,” which is a regional expansion of the J-Startup program promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, this program aims to create a sustainable society by starting local businesses that work to solve regional and social issues. This is an accelerator program aimed at fostering families, expanding their businesses, and contributing to regional
revitalization. From the eight startup companies that participated, EY Japan selected three companies based on three selection criteria: Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Social Impact.
Hydro-VENUS Co., Ltd. is a hydroelectric power generator that generates electricity by vibrating a semi-cylindrical pendulum using the flow of water, invented by Professor Shinji Hiejima of the Faculty of Environmental, Life and Natural Sciences (Engineering), Faculty of Academic Research. Developing business that utilizes. Unlike conventional tidal current power generation, this power generation method does not use propellers, reducing manufacturing costs and simplifying maintenance and management.
In response to this award, the company’s representative director, Goji Ueda (graduate of the University’s Faculty of Engineering), said, “In collaboration with Okayama University and business companies, we will not only produce W-class generators for sensing rivers and irrigation canals, but also We are aiming to expand power generation in response to the current trend, and aim to realize a 1kW machine by the end of 2024.If you are even slightly interested in project management or development, please feel free to contact us. .
