RESOTECH EXPO is a DX/IT exhibition and business meeting held in Okinawa Prefecture. The aim is to create collaboration and co-creation through business matching and promote DX in Okinawa Prefecture. ResorTech EXPO in Okinawa is a DX/IT exhibition and business meeting held in Okinawa Prefecture with a capacity of 10,000 people. This is a once-a-year big event related to DX, where you can see a variety of seminars and symposiums, and also support business matching with IT companies within and outside the prefecture as an exhibition business meeting.
This event started in 2020 as the ResorTech Okinawa “Okinawa International IT Trade Fair.” Starting in 2021, the name will be changed to “ResorTech EXPO,” and this year marks the 6th time. Last year, with the slogan “Reboot Japan from Okinawa!”, Japan’s IT was “rebooted” after the coronavirus pandemic, and in 2024, we will finally enter the phase of “connecting (delivering)” Japan’s IT to other countries in Asia, with a focus on Okinawa. As if to symbolize this phase, Taiwan, South Korea, Vietnam, and Hong Kong are scheduled to participate in 2024, as they did last year (as of May 2024). We will update it with even more international flavor. As with last time, the main venue will be Okinawa Arena (Okinawa City), where various events will be held using state-of-the-art digital signage, and a place where you can interact with many companies from within and outside Okinawa prefecture, as well as overseas companies. This year’s theme is “Okinawa connects Asia and Japan.” With Okinawa as a gateway between Asia and Japan, RESOTECH EXPO 2024 aims to develop the region and promote cultural and economic exchanges using technology. We aim to play a role in creating new business and regional revitalization by promoting DX in all industries such as tourism, developing human resources, and resolving local issues through industry-government-academia collaboration, and creating new innovations and businesses originating from Okinawa.
The main color this time is a color based on “Ryukyu indigo”. Ryukyu indigo is a plant that only grows in Okinawa in Japan, and is a unique color that can only be produced in Okinawa. There is also a plant called tadeai in Honshu, but Honshu indigo and Ryukyu indigo are actually completely different plants in terms of botanical
classification.
Using the unique indigo color that can only be produced in Okinawa as the base color and combining it with bingata shapes, we created a new conceptual image as Okinawa’s only resort and technology festival. Similar to the design concept above, the exhibition will also have a reboot as its core.In addition to the exhibitions, seminars, and symposiums that have been held so far, six new We are planning to implement initiatives.
1. Held at Okinawa Arena
This year’s event will be held at the Okinawa Arena, which also served as the venue for the FIBA Basketball World Tournament 2023, where a total of 20 heated games were held. With a visitor goal of 15,000 people (10,000 in real life, 5,000 online), we will plan an event that makes full use of the latest digital signage, and aim to attract many companies from outside the prefecture and overseas.
2. Collaboration with nearby facilities and areas
In addition to using the Okinawa Arena as the main venue, we will utilize nearby facilities and areas within Okinawa City, and will work with related organizations and governments to consider event dissemination and collaboration in order to hold the event in a variety of areas.
3. Co-sponsorship/cooperation with business meetings sponsored by other prefectures
We will increase the number of booths and review our preliminary hearings in order to create an environment that makes it easier to concentrate on business negotiations and further improve the matching rate.
In addition, while seeking co-sponsorship with other business meetings in the prefecture, we will work and support a wide range of businesses that are in need of digital transformation.
4. Pre-event matching
We are dispatched to events both within and outside the prefecture and overseas, including Okinawa, Tokyo, Osaka, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong, and are negotiating for mutual exhibitions and mutual seminars.
5. Setting up a venue for students and general visitors
In order to let the general public and students learn about “IT” and “DX” through “fun experiences” in IT technology and expand the potential of industry human resources, we will build on last year’s efforts and invite the general public to the RESOTECH EXPO. We are planning a place where you can participate.
6. Innovation creation plan
We will widely introduce the businesses and initiatives of startups and small and medium-sized enterprises in the prefecture to increase awareness. Furthermore, we will plan special events to create opportunities for matching with visitors and partner companies, and to promote technological innovation between companies.
