Details of Daoko’s 8th and latest album “Slash-&-Burn” scheduled for release on May 22nd have been announced!

This album, “Slash-&-Burn”, which is the first album in about 4 years since the previous album “anima”, expresses the meaning of “slash-and-burn” and expresses Daoko’s desire to burn down the present and past and nurture new buds. It’s included.
11 of the 12 songs are unreleased newly written songs, and they were self-produced and centered on Daoko’s own lyrics and compositions. HIDEYA KOJIMA (Hideya Kojima), who has worked on songs from the beginning of Daoko’s career, DJ June, Nariaki Obukuro (Nariaki Obukuro), GuruConnect, Maigo Hanyu, and TAAR, who have worked together on past songs. Toyoaki Mishima has a close relationship as a live manipulator. Then, by requesting arrangements from artists whom Daoko respects, such as food festivals near her field of activity, and completing the songs together, she realizes a diverse and unique musical expression that expands Daoko’s spiritual world. I was able to do that.
If I were to describe them, I would say they are “a quiet flame born between the changes of the times and self-reflection.”
The jacket illustration was created by Kennosuke Hara, an
up-and-coming illustrator.
“Slash-&-Burn” is a record that connects Daoko’s past and future, marking a new step in her musical journey.
In addition, a new artist photo was also released prior to the release of the album.
Photographed by photographer Mami Baba, who jointly held an exhibition with Daoko at Ebisu KATA in 2019 and is also responsible for Daoko’s last three artist photographs.
Tickets for the Tosaka solo tour “Daoko “Slash-&-Burn” Tour 2024”, which will be held to commemorate the album release, are on general sale starting today.
