Masahiko Katsuse’s first new feature in three years, “Blue Marriage,” will be released on June 27, 2024! !

Masahiko Katsuse’s third full-length novel will be released in June 2024, depicting youth in their 20s in “Young People at Dawn” (2020, published by Gentosha) and passionate love in “Night Traveling Himitsu” (2021, published by Futabasha). It has been decided that it will be published by Shinchosha on April 27th. *
The title of Masahiko Katsuse’s first full-length novel in three years since “Yakou Himitsu” is “Blue Marriage.” This work, which was completed after repeated revisions, centers on two men and depicts the problems and conflicts that occur in modern times, such as marriage, divorce, work, couples, and harassment. Mamoru Amemiya, a company employee in his late 20s whose life accelerates after asking, “Would you like to get married?” and Tsuyoshi Hijikata, a man in his 50s whose wife he has been with for many years wants a divorce. The story develops in an unexpected direction as two men of different
generations and values intersect due to suspicions of internal harassment.

I can’t move forward until I finish writing this story. With this in mind, I continued to write for three years.
How should we face our past selves, and how should we live in the future? I plan to continue searching for answers together with the main characters.
