With this in mind, Xiaomi U30 Photo Contest 2024 is a photo contest for works taken with smartphones.

Work theme: The theme is free. We are accepting submissions of 5 to 10 images as one work.
Entries reception period: First screening May 9, 2024 (Thursday) to June 30, 2024 (Sunday)
Judges & Instructors: Photographers Takeshi Shimamoto and Kenji Sato Up to 10 people who pass the first screening (*1) will receive a Xiaomi 14 Ultra and a Xiaomi 14 Ultra Photography Kit. We will also invite you to “Xiaomi Photo Academy 2024” where you can receive lectures from professional photographers and learn photo techniques using “Xiaomi 14 Ultra”. Outstanding works selected from the participants of Xiaomi Photo Academy 2024 (*2) in the second round will be featured in digital advertisements at major stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area.
*1 Those who passed the first screening will be contacted by Saturday, July 20, 2024.

Born in Chiba Prefecture. Photographer, creative director, romantic. He joined the photography club at his high school in Ojai, California, and spent his youth in the darkroom. Graduated from Academy of Art University (San Francisco), Department of Photography. While living in the United States, he planned and held numerous photo exhibitions in the United States. Joji Shimamoto’s photographs make you feel the smells, sounds, and even humidity of the place, giving you a sense of peace and nostalgia, just like the noise of an LP record needle. He is one of those rare photographers who captures a moment in time and makes you imagine the story behind it as if it were a movie, arousing the sensibilities of the viewer.
