The trajectory of the formation of the 11-member girl group “ME:I”, which was born from the survival audition program “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS”, which was one of the largest program productions ever in the Japanese entertainment world. The Blu-ray BOX/DVD BOX “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS Extra Edition – The Beginning of the Dream -” will be released on Wednesday, July 24th.
“PRODUCE 101 JAPAN THE GIRLS” selected 101 trainees from a total of approximately 14,000 applicants, the largest number in the history of the season, and from among the 20 finalists in the 132-day audition, national producers voted. The ranking of 11 people has been decided. The total number of votes since the start of voting was approximately 90 million, and 11 people were selected: COCORO, MIU, MOMONA, RAN, SHIZUKU, AYANE, KEIKO, KOKONA, RINON, SUZU, and TSUZUMI.
This work includes unreleased footage of the 11 members, as well as stories and interviews that more clearly depict the suffering and conflicts that could not be conveyed in the main story. Please take a look at the precious audition video of ME:I, which made its

What is [PRODUCE 101 JAPAN]?
The Japanese version of the blockbuster survival audition program “PRODUCE 101”, which is broadcast on the Korean music channel “Mnet” and is overwhelmingly popular among men and women in their teens and 20s. SEASON 1 will be held in 2019 and SEASON 2 will be held in 2021. After a screening of documents and practical skills, 101 successful applicants were selected. The 101 people are called “trainees” and will perform songs, dances, and take on various missions. Eleven people who survived the fierce competition were finally selected, and in the Japanese version, “JO1” and “INI” made their major debut as global boy groups.

The group name has the meaning of “’future idols’ representing the new generation of Japan.” Debuting with the DEBUT SINGLE “MIRAI” on April 17th (Wednesday), the group sold 263,000 copies in the first week, ranked first on the Oricon weekly single ranking, and also topped the Billboard JAPAN weekly single sales chart “Top Singles Sales.” The music video for their debut song “Click” has currently been viewed over 22 million times. The fan concert “2024 ME:I LAUNCHING SHOW ME:ICONIC” held before their debut attracted a total of 9 performances and approximately 65,000 people in two cities, Tokyo (including additional performances) and Osaka. Furthermore, it has been decided that “2024 ME: ICONIC Hi-SUMMER” will be held as the group’s first solo performance in Aichi, making this a popular group that stands out among the many girl groups.
