We would like to inform you that this event will be held in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture, in addition to Hyogo Prefecture.
This youth cafe was held in conjunction with the NPO Osaki Regional Creation Research Institute Kiratto Counseling Room, which operates a consultation service for women and girls who have worries and anxiety in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. The event will be held under the name “Karada x Kiratto CAFE”.
“Kokoro to Body x Kiratto CAFE” is a place where junior high and high school students can drop by and casually talk and seek advice about school, family, relationships with partners, and body-related matters such as menstruation and ejaculation. It’s a place where you can. You can also freely read the leaflets and books provided. The first event will be held on June 12th (Wednesday) from 14:00 to 17:00, coinciding with the “Challenge Day” that started this year in Osaki City, Miyagi Prefecture. The target audience is mainly junior high and high school students, but anyone who is interested is welcome to drop by.

◎Current status of sex education in Japan and “International Sexuality Education Guidance”
In Japan, there is still a strong sense of resistance to sex education, and there are various restrictions such as not covering sexual intercourse, contraception, and abortion during compulsory education, and an environment in which young people can learn correct knowledge about sex has not been created. I can’t say that there is. On the other hand, there is a lot of information surrounding young people, and various news related to young people’s sexuality is reported every day, such as unexpected pregnancies at a young age, damage caused by SNS, and sexual crimes.
Internationally, based on the “International Sexuality Education Guidance” created by UNESCO, WHO, etc. in 2009, education is not only about providing knowledge about the body, but also about human relationships, human rights, culture, values, understanding of gender, etc. It is recommended that “comprehensive sex education” that is both human rights education and crime prevention education, with consideration to violence and safety, be systematically taught from an early age.
Additionally, in Sweden, midwives, nurses, clinical psychologists, obstetricians and gynecologists are on hand, and young people between the ages of 13 and 25 can visit for free. There are over 250 youth clinics. However, there are still only a few youth clinics in Japan, and there are a limited number of places where you can casually consult about sex.
NPO HIKIDASHI plans to gradually increase the number of locations in the future and develop activities to deliver necessary sexual knowledge to as many young people as possible.
