As of May 2024, Colors Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Juichi Kakumae), which undertakes all back-office operations such as corporate secretarial, accounting, and general affairs, has over 350 staff working from home. Many of our employees have experienced the transition from coming to work to staying at home due to family circumstances such as raising children. When we reached 350 people, we compiled a ranking of the things we were able to do by not coming to work.
After the coronavirus, there is a trend to return to work, and local governments have guidelines encouraging telecommuting.
Since the coronavirus moved to Category 5, companies have been accelerating their efforts to increase the frequency of employees coming to work, and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare has made it mandatory for companies to make efforts to encourage families with children under the age of 3 to work from home. The policy has been announced. Furthermore, the Cabinet Personnel Bureau and the National Personnel Authority have issued a new document titled “Appropriate implementation of telework for national public servants,” which states that it is basic to allow employees to telework according to their wishes, unless there is a hindrance to business operations. The number one thing I realized after switching from going to the office to working from home was that the accuracy of my work had improved.
