Press release: June 7, 2024
**
We held the second kick-off meeting for the “Decarbonization Action Mizonokuchi” project “Marutto Sustainer CAMP”!
*Local youth and participating companies exchanged opinions. What is currently lacking in the spread of decarbonization? *
The “Decarbonization Action Mizonokuchi Promotion Council (*1)” was established as part of Kawasaki City’s efforts to realize a
decarbonized society.*
Since last year, we have been running “Marutto Sustaina CAMP (*2),” which disseminates information on decarbonization from a young person’s perspective*
. On June 4, 2020, we held a kick-off meeting for the second period of “Interns,” whose members are updated every year.
17 people including young people from the local area who are newly participating this year and continuing participants from last year* was appointed as an intern by the Decarbonization Action Mizonokuchi Promotion Council. Until March next year*
Communicating efforts related to decarbonization through visits to and interviews with companies participating in the Promotion Council and participation in events*
By doing so, we aim to make decarbonization efforts in the area around Mizoguchi, Takatsu Ward, Kawasaki City more familiar to citizens, and to further expand these efforts. Stay tuned to see what activities will be held this year!
2nd term interns
* Young people’s sensibilities x corporate experience. “I want to change the idea that decarbonization = high awareness!”*
In addition to the activities of the previous year, this year’s Marutto Sustaina CAMP will also take on the challenge of collaborating with companies participating in the Promotion Council*
I plan to do so. During the brainstorming session at the meeting, regarding “fashion,” which is one of the new theme fields, opinions such as “I want to make accessories using ocean plastic,” which the participating companies are working to collect, were raised, and companies responded, ” Some people encouraged me by saying, “If you’re going to do this, just try to start a brand.”

Also, “What is decarbonization? We heard some opinions such as “It’s vague and difficult to understand,” and “We want to change the idea that “decarbonization = high awareness” by communicating in a way that is familiar to people.” This year, in our communication activities, *
We will leave more autonomy to the interns in terms of where to interview and what to cover, and we will actively and flexibly use SNS such as Note. *
