The people in charge of this project were Kei Yamazaki, who “lives off of other people’s love stories,” and Ikuto Kawai, who Kei says is “the next MC candidate to take over the television world.” We spoke to three couples who are having virtual love on the Metaverse.

The first couple is a “long-distance Metaverse love couple” who meet every day on the Metaverse but have only met once in real life, with the boyfriend living in Kanto and the girlfriend in Kyushu. They met in the Metaverse, where she works at the Metaverse Maid Cafe, and her boyfriend came as a customer at the event. Exchange of friends was prohibited at the maid cafe, but it happened again at another music event. From there, they hit it off, and as he supported her when she was struggling with relationships, they developed into a romance. After falling in love on the Metaverse, they found themselves falling in love in real life.
MCs Kawai-san and Kei-san also seemed curious, asking, “Why did you start dating?” “Where did you start dating?”

It seems that her boyfriend who calls her “big brother” on the Metaverse and likes younger sister attributes was a strike.
Since we couldn’t meet in real life due to the coronavirus pandemic, we decided to meet frequently on the Metaverse. The idea that they were able to naturally accept each other when they met in the real world was to make the avatars have the same height difference as in reality so that they looked at each other from the same perspective. Furthermore, it seems that there was no gap between them as they sent each other photos. Her boyfriend was attracted to the natural cuteness of the photo, which was unedited, and Kawai revealed, “Even I’ve edited it, even though my legs are stretched out.”
