Ogis Research Institute launches “AWS audit service powered by observability”

[Joint announcement]
New Relic Inc.
Ogis Research Institute launches “AWS audit service powered by observability” ~Integration of New Relic dashboard into Cloud Arch, a cloud operation automation tool that leverages Osaka Gas’s track record and know-how in building AWS audit infrastructure~
……
Ogis Research Institute, Inc. (Headquarters: Nishi-ku, Osaka, President and CEO: Kazuhiko Yoshimura, hereinafter referred to as Ogis Research Institute) is a subsidiary of New Relic, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, Japan), which provides observability platforms for digital businesses. We have signed a sales partner agreement with Shinichiro Konishi, President and Representative Director (hereinafter referred to as New Relic) for the observability platform “New Relic.” Starting today, Ogis Research Institute will begin offering “AWS Audit Service powered by Observability,” an integrated solution that incorporates New Relic’s dashboard into its own cloud operation automation tool “Cloud Arch.” It becomes possible to visualize security on AWS and manage CSPM (Cloud Security Posture Management) as part of observability. We aim to introduce it to 30 companies over the next three years.
“Cloud Arch”, which Ogis Research Institute will provide from 2021, leverages its parent company Osaka Gas Co., Ltd.’s (hereinafter referred to as “Osaka Gas”) track record of building AWS security audit infrastructure and operating IT systems to centrally monitor and monitor hybrid cloud environments. This is a solution that automates operations. It can perform everything from automation of cloud operation and maintenance work to cost/security diagnosis and optimization, as well as integrated system monitoring, reducing IT system operating costs by up to 30% while also addressing the issue of lack of IT human resources. Correspond.
In IT system operation work for Osaka Gas, we have achieved a reduction in operational man-hours of 15,300 hours per year by automating the work by introducing Cloud Arch. In recent years, as the use of AWS has expanded throughout the Daigas Group, there has been a need to strengthen related security, so we are building an AWS auditing infrastructure and automating security audits.
However, when implementing an audit infrastructure using only existing AWS functions, the large number of alerts that occur often becomes an operational burden, and it is difficult to visualize and analyze daily security events, or create custom rules tailored to the company. There were challenges in setting up the system and managing it across the organization.
Therefore, OGIS Research Institute will leverage its operational experience for Osaka Gas to begin providing “AWS audit service powered by observability” in order to address common issues in the industry. The addition of New Relic’s configuration information audit and dashboard functions to Cloud Arch makes it easier to detect anomalies and check security rule compliance status across the company, while also flexibly responding to customer-specific security rules. However, it will also support the cloud-based system. Additionally, by linking AI functions to alert notifications of events detected by AWS Audit Service powered by Observability, we plan to provide a function that provides recommendations equivalent to those of operational experts. Ogis Research Institute and New Relic will continue to work together to increase the added value of joint solutions and meet customer demand for building high-quality and highly efficient security audit infrastructure and automating its operations, which increases in proportion to the spread of AWS. We will support your business growth. Comment from Mr. Seiji Moriuchi, Director and Executive Officer, OGIS Research Institute
“Ogis Research Institute, as an IT subsidiary of Osaka Gas, has been highly evaluated for its technological capabilities that have kept Osaka Gas’s systems operating stably for over 30 years. By
collaborating with New Relic, a partner in the observability field, it is a solution that improves customer performance, resolves the issue of IT human resource shortages, and reduces operational costs and human errors. We will support you in resolving operational issues. Comment from Shinichiro Konishi, President and CEO of New Relic Inc. “We are looking forward to our partnership with Ogis Research Institute, which has a proven track record of cloud operations for many companies including Osaka Gas.The combination of OGIS Research Institute’s solutions and New Relic’s observability will help improve the competitiveness of domestic companies’ digital businesses and improve governance. This will help strengthen the
■Overview of “AWS Audit Service powered by Observability”
In recent years, the use of the cloud has increased from being centralized in data centers to individual applications, making it difficult to handle security audits manually. On the other hand, security incidents have occurred due to incorrect cloud settings, making continuous security audits important.
“AWS Audit Service powered by Observability” enables quick and continuous security audits by auditing based on unique security rules using AWS Config and AWS CloudTrail, and by visualizing the response status of each system using New Relic’s security dashboard. Realize. We also flexibly respond to customer-specific security rules and support system cloud migration from a security perspective.
