Earth hacks Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Sumito Sekine, Earth hacks (hereinafter referred to as “Earth hacks”) has started offering “Dekabo my Score”, a new service that allows you to calculate your individual environmental contribution. It has been decided that this service will be introduced in Ehime Prefecture, the first local government in Japan, and we will continue to roll it out nationwide as an opportunity for consumers to take decarbonization actions “easily and easily”.
From July 2022, Earth hacks will begin offering the “Dekabo Score*2” mark that indicates the “reduction rate of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e)*1” as a new selection criterion for the environmental value of products and services. As of December 2023, it has been adopted by more than 120 companies and brands.
We have recently started offering the “Dekabo my Score” service, which allows you to calculate your individual environmental contribution. This tool allows you to calculate your annual carbon dioxide equivalent emissions by answering 12 simple questions from four perspectives: transportation, shopping, housing, and meals.

Compared to products using conventional materials and methods, it displays the reduction rate of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions that changes due to environmentally friendly measures.
Starting with our initiative with Ehime Prefecture, Earth hacks will work to expand decarbonization actions that consumers can easily participate in, through collaboration with many administrative and local governments and private companies. By increasing the number of partners in the future, we aim to create a society where more consumers throughout Japan can choose products based on the new index of “environmental value” and contribute to decarbonization while having fun.
What is “Dekabo my Score”?

This is a solution tool that uses the CO2e emissions visualization tool “Lifestyle Calculator” jointly developed by the United Nations and Swedish impact tech company Doconomy to measure the equivalent amount of carbon dioxide emitted by each consumer’s actions. Emissions that make it possible to visualize how much carbon dioxide is emitted as a result of the choices consumers make in their lifestyles (transportation, shopping, meals, etc.) and to influence the amount of carbon dioxide emitted by the results of their actions. Ehime Prefecture launches “Dekabo Ehime Project”, a new step towards realizing a decarbonized society
