Founded in Harajuku in 2003, we started a new system in the fall of 2020 and opened a POP UP SHOP in the Meiji Jingumae area.
After opening a new store in Shibuya in October 2021, the official website “Kinetics-Tokyo.com” will start operating in June 2023 due to the relocation.
Kinetics, which returned to Harajuku after various journeys, will celebrate its 20th anniversary and open a new store on Friday, September 1, 2023.
To commemorate the publication of the second novel “Small Wheels ~Skateboarding is wonderful~” by the author of this work, Yui Yanagimachi, who is active in a wide range of fields, and will be published by the culture magazine HIDDEN CHAMPION, a new novel will be set up in the Kinetics shop. We will be holding a publication commemorative party.
At the venue, a book sales autograph session by Yui Yanagimachi was held while DJ Carlos Hiroshi played.
Also, from 20:10, there will be a talk show about novel publishing with author Yuh Yanagimachi and Hidenori Matsuoka, editor-in-chief of “HIDDEN CHAMPION,” which is in charge of publishing, and from 20:30, there will be a talk show about the novel by skater Yuh Yanagimachi and the skateboarding of the same title. We will be holding a video preview of the part “Small Wheels” and a trailer for PUMA
SKATEBOARDING’s full-length TEAM VIDEO scheduled to be released in July of this year. (We will hold an autograph session as time permits after the screening of the film.)

[Book summary]
A short story collection based on all 10 stories of the one-shot novel “Skateboard is wonderful” that was serialized from “HIDDEN CHAMPION” issues 60 to 69.
“Small Wheels” is finally on sale.
Born in Hayama Town, Kanagawa Prefecture, he moves around with his skateboard from Yokosuka US Military Base and Shonan to Yokohama and Tokyo, and is a realistic portrait of a young man growing from a teenager to an adult in the 1990s. Skateboarding, gals, clubs, gals, alcohol, gals…but it’s still skateboarding! ! and,
This is the second volume of a collection of youthful short stories written by author Yui Yanagimachi, who has spent more than 30 years struggling with her youth at the mercy of skateboarding.
As a special appendix, we also include a conversation with Susumu Okada, who is also a professional skater and author of the novel “Glasses, Otakus, and Skateboards.”

Novel “Small Wheels” Author: Yu Yanagimachi
He discovered skateboarding in 1986 and began his career as an AJSA certified professional in 1993. However, in 1995, he became addicted to club culture and nightlife and dropped out of the professional ranks. In 1999, he began writing as an editor for the skateboard magazine “WHEEL magazine.” For the next 30 years, he used titles such as “contemporary skateboarder,” “impressionist skateboarder,” and “skateboard consultant,” and worked as a writer for specialized magazines, fashion magazines, culture magazines, and real estate websites. He has been running his own brand “SNAKE’S PORNO WHEEL” since 2012, and changed the brand name to “BACANCES ALL INCLUSIVE” in 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic. He is still working behind the scenes at the bottom of Japan’s skateboarding scene.
