The resort hotel “Kyukamura Kesennuma Oshima” (Location: Sotohata, Kesennuma City, Miyagi Prefecture, Manager: Yasushi Takada), located in Kesennuma City, the northeastern tip of Miyagi Prefecture, has been landing fresh bonito at Kesennuma Port, Japan’s No. 1 port town for 27 consecutive years. We will sell bonito sashimi as a la carte dish. The fresh bonito that can only be enjoyed in a port town facing the Sanriku coast, which is a fishing ground, is the soul fish of Kesennuma. The 8th Kesennuma Katsu Festival will be held from Saturday, July 13th to Sunday, August 11th, and special bonito dishes will be served at participating restaurants, hotels, and tourist markets.
