Kyoto University of Advanced Science (location: Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City, President: Masashi Maeda, hereinafter referred to as the “University”) will launch the KUAS Future Scholarship, a grant-type scholarship funded by a donation from President Nagamori, in April 2025. We would like to inform you that this will be provided to prospective students. The “KUAS Future Scholarship” is open to all faculties and
departments. Applicable to AO entrance exams, public recommendation entrance exams, general entrance exams, and entrance exams using common university entrance tests, the scholarship will cover either the full (100%) or half (50%) of the tuition fees for four years.

The “KUAS Future Scholarship” is open to all faculties and
departments. Applicable to AO entrance exams, public recommendation entrance exams, general entrance exams, and entrance exams using common university entrance tests, the scholarship will cover either the full (100%) or half (50%) of the tuition fees for four years. According to the “Trends in Tuition Fees, etc. for National, Public and Private Universities” announced by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, the annual cost of private universities in 2020, including tuition and admission fees, has increased by 28% compared to 1991. . On the other hand, in the “Trends in per capita nominal wages and real wages” in the “Reiwa 4th Annual Economic and Fiscal Report” published by the Cabinet Office, real wages for the same period increased by 3.1%, a difference of about 24%. are born, and the environment continues to be harsh for the child-rearing generation. The history of Kyoto University of Advanced Science begins in 2018 when Shigenobu Nagamori, founder of Nidek Corporation (formerly Nidec Corporation) (currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kyoto University of Advanced Science), established Kyoto Gakuen University with the aim of developing human resources who can play an active role in the world. It all started with my participation in the management of the company. In 2019, we changed the name of the school to its current name, and in 2020 we established a new faculty of engineering that conducts all classes in English, becoming the first faculty in Japan to do so. Ta. The “KUAS Future Scholarship” was also newly established due to the strong feelings of Chairman Shigenobu Nagamori. Although it was difficult for Nagamori to attend university due to family circumstances, he received a scholarship and went on to university, and after graduation he started Nidec Corporation (currently Nidek Corporation). We have grown into one of the world’s leading motor manufacturers with sales exceeding 2 trillion yen. Based on this background, we decided to establish the “KUAS Future Scholarship” in order to provide a learning opportunity to students who have no choice but to give up on university education despite their strong desire to learn.
