ZETA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Setagaya-ku, Tokyo, hereinafter referred to as ZETA), a leading commerce and CX company that develops and sells EC product search, hashtags, reviews, retail media advertising, and OMO solutions, will expand its business nationwide in March 2024. We conducted a survey on “hashtag search” among 500 men and women between the ages of 20 and 65.
Research results regarding search keywords

More than half of the people answered that they often search, search sometimes, or have never searched, but have thought about searching, using keywords that express latent needs. The results show that there is a need for this.
We also found that about half of people search for products based on instinct before deciding what they specifically want.

Approximately 40% of respondents chose to use hashtags to gather information on e-commerce sites and SNS.
In addition, according to the results of a separate age-specific survey, more than 40% of people in their 20s to 40s selected “Often” or “Sometimes,” and about twice as many people in their 50s to 60s. The results showed a large difference.

Among those who are aware of hashtags on e-commerce sites,
approximately half of them selected “I have clicked on a hashtag,” indicating that many people search using hashtags. Ta.
In addition, according to the results of a separate survey by age group, those in their 20s to 40s (excluding women in their 30s) who selected “I have clicked on hashtags” selected “I have never clicked on hashtags.” This result shows that the use of hashtag searches is widespread among people other than young people.

More than half of the people who have clicked on a hashtag have a positive impression of it, such as “I was able to find a product that matched the image” and “I thought it was easy to find a product,” indicating that hashtags have a positive effect on satisfaction with e-commerce sites. We found that this feature contributes to
improvements and provides a more comfortable search experience. In this survey, in addition to the above questions, we conducted a survey by age group, and found that hashtags are useful when searching for products, not only for young people in their 20s and 30s, but also for all generations.
