Mapbox Japan LLC (hereinafter referred to as Mapbox), a leading company in the digital map and location information platform, is continuing from last year to hold Japan’s only business event “Game Tools & Middleware Forum
We will exhibit at “GTMF2024 (GTMF2024)”. GTMF2024 will be held in Osaka on June 28th (Friday) and in Tokyo on July 9th (Tuesday), and in addition to exhibiting at both venues, Mapbox will be on stage at the session and will be presenting “The basics, characteristics, and combinations of digital maps.” I will give a lecture titled “The Expanding Possibilities of Map Games”. *

Mapbox is “Nobunaga’s Ambition”
It is an advanced map development platform with excellent design that is used in popular location-based game titles such as “Go to Battle” and “Dragon Quest Walk.” Mapbox is a no-code photo editor-like tool that any map game developer can use right away.
Studio gives you easy and flexible control over in-game map design. Maps can be customized in all aspects, including color schemes, fonts, and 3D expressions, at any zoom level, to match the worldview of the game.
Also, in map games, smooth movement and display within the map, such as pinching in and out, is essential, but Mapbox, which processes data quickly and efficiently, can be used even if the map is highly customized to match the world view. However, it provides stress-free operability. Furthermore, in order to play the game safely, Mapbox, a technology developed in Japan, can determine restricted areas and roads that cannot be walked on, and place item acquisition spots and checkpoints only in appropriate locations.
We also offer “Playable Location”.
At GTMF2024, we will introduce the highly functional map game development solution provided by MapBox. At the booth, we exhibited demo apps and map design tools that utilize Mapbox under the title “Location-based games evolving with Mapbox maps.” In the session that will be held from 10:00 am at both the Osaka and Tokyo venues, there will be a lecture titled “The Basics and Features of Digital Maps, and the Expanding Possibilities of Map Games by Combining them”.
