Bakan Co., Ltd. (Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Goshin Kono), a startup that provides services that eliminate “waiting” by utilizing AI and IoT, and Namekawa City, Toyama Prefecture (Mayor: Tatsuo Mizuno) will be working together in September 2024. On March 3rd, we will conclude an agreement regarding the provision of information regarding disaster evacuation facilities. *

In the event of earthquakes, wind and flood disasters, or other disasters, users can check information on evacuation facilities (openings, congestion status) online through the real-time vacancy information distribution platform “VACAN” provided by VACAN. . *

In this initiative, when Namekawa City opens an evacuation center in the event of a disaster, Bakan will provide an internet service that will deliver real-time congestion information at the evacuation center. Distribution will be performed using the real-time
availability information distribution platform “VACAN” provided by VACAN.

Information on crowding levels will be updated by staff at each evacuation center using an online management screen. There are four display levels: “Empty”, “Slightly crowded”, “Congested”, and “Full”.

In preparation for natural disasters, which have been increasing in recent years, this initiative will allow evacuees and their families living far away to easily check the congestion situation from their smartphones. By considering dispersed evacuation, we aim to create an environment where people can act more safely.
