Milk. Co., Ltd. Released “ANSWER 2.0” equipped with “HISUI” hyperspectral data analysis function

[Milk. Co., Ltd.] Released “ANSWER 2.0” equipped with “HISUI” hyperspectral data analysis function
*Milk. Co., Ltd.*
Press release: September 6, 2024
**
Release of “ANSWER 2.0” equipped with hyperspectral data analysis function of “HISUI”
* ■What is ANSWER?*
“ANSWER” is a cloud-based image analysis platform that expands the uses of hyperspectral cameras.
Hyperspectral data containing a huge amount of information can be processed using just a mouse, without the need for complex code.* It is possible to perform analysis and algorithms tailored to various uses and perform analysis easily.

* ■ANSWER2.0 update details*
The newly released “* ANSWER 2.0*” uses a hyperspectral camera (17 / 18 / In addition to data from Type 0) and the general format “* ENVI*” file, it also supports the new “* HISUI *” hyperspectral data format.

*What is HISUI?*
HISUI is a hyperspectral sensor for space demonstration developed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and is currently being developed by NEDO.
It is operated under the K-Pro (Economic Security Important Technology Development Program) project.
HISUI was installed on the International Space Station’s Japanese Experiment Module “Kibo” in 2019 and began observations in September 2020.
HISUI image data covers the wavelength range from VNIR to SWIR (0.4 to 2.5 μm) with a wavelength resolution of 10 nm (VNIR) or 12.5 nm (SWIR) using 185 continuous bands.
The ground spatial resolution of the sensor is 20 to 31 m, and the grid interval is set to 20 m for geometrically corrected data (L1G product).

■ANSWER2.0 analysis function
ANSWER2.0 allows you to use the following analysis functions.

1. RGB / single wavelength conversion
▲ Photographing the exterior wall of the building

You can select any wavelength information in hyperspectral data and preview the image accordingly.
Wavelength information can be imaged by selecting either *3 bands* (RGB image) or *single wavelength* (grayscale image).

▲ Select any 3 bands → Generate RGB image

▲ Select any single wavelength → Generate a grayscale image * Photograph a banana

▲ Visualize damage inside bananas that cannot be seen with the naked eye by changing wavelength information

2. Dual wavelength analysis (NDVI calculation)
Select two pieces of arbitrary wavelength information that you want to compare, substitute them into the formula below to find the difference in the amount of reflection of the two wavelengths for each pixel, and perform image processing based on the magnitude of the value.

* | NDVI (difference calculation) = ((Wavelength A – Wavelength B)/(Wavelength A Wavelength B))*

▲ Photograph turnips (fake), bananas, and apples

3. Similarity analysis
▲ Photographing red bell peppers, red bell peppers, and tomatoes Click on the image to set the training data, calculate the cos similarity for each pixel with the training data, and perform image processing based on the magnitude of the value.

▲ Calculating similarity using red paprika as training data → Differences from tomatoes and red peppers are apparent

4. Graph function
▲ Photographing the exterior wall of the building

By clicking on the image, you can obtain and display wavelength information for the specified location.
Spectra can be acquired by *point/range specification*.

You can also stock the acquired spectra and compare each wavelength information.
It is also possible to list the last acquired spectrum information and output it in *csv format*.

■ Upgrade scheduled function
* Overall features *
– Storage function, app development function, thread function, etc. * Analysis function *
– XGBOOST principal component analysis reflectance calculation clustering

■ Plan details
ANSWER2.0 is available on monthly and annual plans.
▲ The above amount includes tax.
