■What the “Morikawa Umimachi Children’s Summit” aims to do The goal of the Morikawa Umimachi Children’s Summit, which began in 2023, is to “encourage children who love living things and nature to play an active role in the world, driven by excitement.” For this reason, we aim to encourage children to interact and interact from a glocal* perspective, and to develop their “agency,” the ability to have a learning compass, identify problems on their own, and take action to solve them. *Glocal: A coined word combining global local. Thinking and acting from a global perspective while considering local characteristics *Agency: The ability to set your own goals

From 2023 “Morikawa Umimachi Children’s Summit” and regional academic
collaboration project “Umimachi Community School” We have launched two projects, and are working to create a system in which children, schools, and society across the country work together to solve local waterside issues, and to develop human resources called “aquatic education leaders.”
