“#Music Making Distribution Audition 2022” is a collaboration between “TuneCore Japan” and “TuneCore Japan” with the desire to convey artists’ thoughts and processes towards music production to as many people as possible through live streaming and discover artists who will lead the music industry in the future. This was our first collaboration project.
This audition, which was held from January 2022, involves a large number of Ichinana Livers and includes song reviews and face-to-face reviews. As a result of the final audition, “Tony Gumbo” won the Grand Prix and won the rights to produce the song by Ryo Konishi, who is not only a composer and arranger but also a saxophonist and active in a band.
Now, the song “Goodbye, Gulliver” written by “Tony Gumbo” and produced by Ryo Konishi has been completed, and it has been decided that it will be released on various distribution sites from today, December 4, 2023 (Monday). The song was inspired by Tony Gumbo’s personal experience, and while the words and melody are punchy, it is a song that feels hopeful.

Born July 25, 1988 in Tokyo, composer and arranger, saxophone, flute, clarinet, synthesizer, and vocoder player. Graduated from Senzoku College of Music with the Maeda Memorial International Scholarship, and graduated at the top of his class at Berklee College of Music. Studied playing with Bob Zung, Tomonao Hara, George Garzone, and Frank Tiberi, and composition and arrangement with Ayn Inserto and Osamu Matsumoto.
His style is to perform using a variety of instruments at once, and he has worked on a wide range of arrangements, from band formations to chamber music for horn sections and string instruments to large orchestral arrangements, and is highly skilled in direction and production. It has been evaluated. His visual music is characterized by his approach from jazz, funk, and classical music, while adding pop interpretations. Based on an alternative approach, he has released many works with a sense of balance that crosses genres in a borderless manner.
