The Youth Division of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the “41st National Chairman Training Session” for the Youth Division of 418 Chambers of Commerce and Industry (YEG) across Japan over two days, November 17th and 18th, 2023, in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture. did. This training session is held every year with the aim of solving problems at YEG in each region and revitalizing the organization, and is an opportunity to provide training to improve the humanity of members and contribute to the development of the local economy. . Approximately 2,000 people participated, including young managers from all over the country, mainly the chairpersons who play a leading role as leaders supporting the local economy, those scheduled to chair the council next year, and the secretariat in charge. At the opening ceremony, Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Group President Asako Kimura (Takamatsu YEG) gave a speech, saying, “Young people have always had the courage to change.Let’s use this as an opportunity to create the future.”

At the subsequent 101st Ordinary General Meeting of Members, the appointment of officers of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Youth Division for 2026, the slogan and president’s message were approved, and Yuta Yoshikawa (Akita YEG), the prospective president, expressed his beliefs.

Statement of Philosophy: Japan YEG Chairman Prospective: Yuta Kikkawa On the first day (17th), training was held on three themes. 1. In the DX training, we introduced examples from Kochi Prefecture and the use of the metaverse. 2. In the SDGs training, we used Japan YEG’s CO2 reduction efforts and manuals. 3. In the policy proposal training, we introduced case studies from a single session in a panel discussion. In the evening, a large social gathering was held inside Kochi Castle, providing an opportunity to experience Kochi culture such as the Yosakoi Naruko dance.

Policy proposal training session at Kyosoujuku: “Let’s all try it together! The road to policy advocacy begins at Kyosoujuku!!” On the second day (18th), the members were divided into three groups: the current year’s chairperson, the next year’s chairperson, and the secretariat.They actively participated in activities and projects aimed at the future of Japan, hoping for the development of the local economy and society. The meeting was a cornerstone of sustainable regional revitalization, with many exchanges of opinions.

A group discussion aimed at creating a sustainable organization that goes beyond the framework of the current year’s single-year training system was held, as well as case study presentations on the theme of YEG activities that will lead to the next year.

Training for prospective chairpersons of the next fiscal year We held an orientation session to deepen understanding of the Japanese YEG project in 2020, as well as help each group create basic policies and business plans.

Secretariat training This was an opportunity to explain the use of YEG information tools and share examples and issues from each region, leading to more efficient secretariat operations and smoother communication with members.

Seven study sessions were also held at the same time for members to learn about Kochi’s history, culture, and food.
After the tournament
Gohei Mitani, chairman of the tournament (Kochi YEG), said, “First of all, I am relieved that we were able to finish the tournament safely.The results of what we have learned will be shown in our future actions.As a prefecture that is an advanced problem-solving
prefecture, we will continue to promote regional revitalization in Kochi Prefecture. I want to face the challenges for the sake of my life,” he said, looking beyond the tournament management to the future of Kochi Prefecture.

Yukihiro Sannomiya, Chairman of the Youth Division of the Kochi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, “I realized that the reason we were able to finish the tournament successfully was because of the support of all those involved.The experience I gained through the tournament cannot be replaced by anything else. It will be something important to me, and I want to connect it to Kochi YEG’s activities in the future.”He said, “The experience and relationships gained at this tournament will not be temporary, but will be taken as the first step toward the future.” He spoke passionately about his desire to do so.
