Therefore, in collaboration with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government (hereinafter referred to as the “Tokyo”), we will hold an EV awareness event that adults and children can enjoy at JKK Housing* “Kosher Heim Nakano Yayoi-cho” in Yayoi-cho, Nakano-ku on October 26th (Saturday) and 27th October. It was held over two days (Sunday). 5,300 people came to the event on the day to see, use, and ride EVs, making it a great success. *General rental housing constructed and managed by JKK 1 Event report ■EV test drive/exhibition 17 EVs from 7 major domestic and foreign manufacturers were gathered, and 105 groups took part in the EV test drive. Some of the people who test drove the car said, “I definitely want to consider an EV when purchasing a new car in the future,” which seems to have given them an opportunity to add EVs to their options. At the EV exhibition, many families with children were seen having fun while interacting with EVs, such as looking at them and riding in the driver’s seat. Also, many small children were seen driving electric passenger radio-controlled cars at the venue. “It was a lot of fun,” one person said, which seems to have sparked his interest in cars.

The goal is to install EV charging equipment in approximately 60,000 residential areas. In order to promote the spread of EVs in JKK housing to achieve carbon neutrality, JKK entered into a collaboration agreement with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government in March 2023 and is strengthening the installation of EV charging equipment. Additionally, for those who own an EV, we have started a system that will reduce the monthly parking fee of JKK Housing by 20% for up to five years from February 2023. Against this background, in order to foster momentum for the use of EVs and the installation of EV charging equipment in apartment complexes, we held an EV awareness event aimed at a wide range of Tokyo residents at JKK Housing Kosher Heim Nakano Yayoimachi.
